· Introduce you to using OPAL, online technology that will allow us to have meetings and workshops remotely, just using a microphone and an internet connection
· Introduce a “Directors of Small Libraries” forum on our website
· Discuss ways that IFLS can help you make connections with other directors, what kinds of interaction you are looking for, and what kinds of issues are especially challenging for small libraries

Economic Impact Study for Wisconsin Libraries
NorthStar Economics has been retained by the Wisconsin Department of
Public Instruction to study the economic impact of public libraries in
Wisconsin. To gather information for the study, they are surveying a
representative sample of library users and non-users throughout the
state. If you are a Wisconsin resident, they would very much appreciate
your input.

IFLS Director to Present Space Needs Planning Workshop on Thursday, March 13th.
John Thompson, IFLS director, will present a workshop on Space Needs Planning for libraries who are contemplating a building or remodeling project. The workshop will be held on Thursday, March 13th the Menomonie Public Library. For more details, see this flyer.

IFLS 30th Anniversary Celebration—May 8, 2008
On Thursday May 8, 2008 the Indianhead Federated Library System will be hosting a 30th Anniversary Celebration of the system. Bestselling author Lorna Landvik will be the featured speaker. Watch for more information in January 2008.
